About Stone: Apatite crystals typically grow in hexagonal (six sided) shapes. The name apatite is derived from Greek meaning “to deceive” likely because it was often mistaken for other, more valuable gemstones, like peridot, tourmaline, and emerald. Apatite is found in igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock, but only the latter grows larger crystals suitable for jewelry. The fibrous apatite is cut into cat’s-eye. Spanish apatite is often called “asparagus stone” due to its yellowish-green color.
Metaphysical Properties: A motivational stone, promoting independence and ambitiousness. Attuned to the Third Eye, it improves concentration and memory skills, and is a good crystal for study purposes. Apatite enhances creativity and awakens the finer, inner self. It is a stone of the future and brings knowledge to those attuned to it.
